A stylish romantic comedy with screen legend Warren Beatty as reclusive billionaire Howard Hughes.
It's 1958 and eccentric aviation tycoon Howard Hughes (Warren Beatty) is established as a Hollywood bigshot. Devout small town Baptist beauty queen Marla Mabrey (Lily Collins) has just arrived in Tinseltown under contract to the legendary mogul, chaperoned by her strict mother, Lucy (Annette Bening). But nothing seems to be happening. In her boredom, Marla finds herself drawn to equally innocent handsome young chauffeur Frank Forbes (Alden Ehrenreich). Unfortunately, controlling Hughes has one golden rule: no employee is permitted to have any kind of relationship with a contract actress. A long-cherished personal project for Hollywood icon Warren Beatty, this sparkling, hugely enjoyable period romantic comedy is his first film in 15 years. It's witty, richly detailed and handsomely staged, with a terrific performance by Beatty. The magnificent supporting cast includes Matthew Broderick, Alec Baldwin and Martin Sheen.
